Cherry Nut Bread

Sift Together:
2 cups flour
1 cup + 2 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Stir in:
1 egg
1/2 cup orange juice
1 Tbsp grated orange peel
2 Tbsp cherry juice or warm water

Fold in:
1/2 cup shortening

Fold in:
2 cups sweet cherries
1/2 cup nuts

Pour into greased loaf pans to make 2 regular-sized loaves. Do not over bake - it should be moist. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
